"Twilight on the River"is the title of this fine quality watercolour by the British artist Henry Charles Fox signed and dated 1894.The river in the picture is probable either the Thames or the Avon. Fox was born in London in 1855 he lived there until his move to Kingston-upon-Thames.In 1880 Fox had his first painting accepted by the Royal Academy, the first of many.Fox painted a view of rural life throughout Surrey, Berkshire,Kent and Sussex he Exhibited a great deal to include the Royal institute of Painters in Watercolour,Glasgow Institute of Fine Art, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Hibernian Academy and Manchester City Art Gallery.In 1889 Fox was elected a full member of the Royal Society of British Artists.He died in Horsham, Weast Sussex in 1929.
