A high quality slim pocket watch by Howard Watch Company of Boston. A Keystone Extra marked case with 'E HOWARD WATCH COMPANY' to the inner edge. A base metal case of slim proportions with engraved edging throughout. A well engraved silvered dial with Arabic numerals and blued steel 'moon' hands. A 17 jewel topwind mechanism with Geneva stripe finish to the plates. An engraved dial centre and subsidiary seconds. The serial number of 46481 on the mechanism dates the watch to circa 1875. The Howard Watch Company are regarded as one of the best American watch makers.
