We are offering for sale this well executed OIl Painting on canvas, signed by the artist K.Cohen in the lower right hand corner. The painting depicts a snowy Dutch street scene, with some groups of people in the street doing their shopping or walking home through the snow with the ladies wearing clogs. It is a bright day and cold, for the snow is still on the ground and the street bears wheel tracks.

We can find no information about the artist, although there are many with this surname. However the only one with a first name beginning with a K has an entirely different style and is much more contemporary. The stretcher is not commercially produced and may well have been hand made by the artist.

The painting is framed in a 3 1/4" gilt frame. It wil be supplied wired with new brass picture wire and with new brass hangers. It will be ready to hang.

Condition: Very good. There is no damage, craquelure or stretcher marks and the surface is clean and taut. The frame is virtually new.
