Large C18th Carved Giltwood Table Lamp
Very impressive and beautiful c18th carved giltwood table lamp.
Originally, this would have been known as a "pricket" and would have held a large candle on a spike, but it has now been wired for use as a table lamp.
Lovely honest condition, showing lots of age and wonderful slightly crusty finish to the gilt.
Very well carved and certainly a statement piece, especially when you consider the age of this piece.
Fully re wired with a gold braided cord and ready to go.
Measuring:
37” or 94cm height including the example shade
26 1/2” or 67cm to bulb cradle
8 1/4” or 21cm square base
20” or 51cm diameter shade Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
