This very handsome and superb quality Victorian figured mahogany cylinder bookcase supported on a pedestal base. The 2 door glazed top features 2 adjustable shelves with the original lock and key. The bottom section features a pedestal desk with a tambourine front enclosing a fitted interior over 9 drawers with original brass handles. The central drawer has a petition in the center and the drawers to either side are graduating in depth. The interior also features a writing slope as well as drawers and pigeon slots. The bookcase measures 48 in – 122 cm wide, 31 in – 78.7 cm deep with a total overall height of 79 in – 200.7 cm and a knee height of 24 in – 61 cm. This magnificent piece would make a lovely focal point for a good variety of both rooms and decors. Thomas Crabb Antiques was founded in 1979 and is run by Stephen Roy Thomas.
