We are offering for sale this large, beautifully executed pastel by the English artist Maureen Jordan, who has signed the pastel in the lower left hand corner and entitled it verso on her card 'Zantedeschias and Pansies'. Zantedeschias are commonly called Arum Lillies (Zantedeschia aethiopica). The pastel depicts a pot of Zantedeschias on a flagstone path, with a pot of yellow and purple pansies next to it and a smaller pot of violas in the foreground.

Maureen Jordan lives in London and was formerly a graphic designer and interior designer, prior to becoming a full time artist. She studied at the Kingston upon Hull College of Arts and Crafts. Her favourite medium is soft pastels and her subject matter includes flowers, gardens, some landscapes and life subjects. She has had a one woman sell-out exhibition in New York and is very well represented in galleries in the UK, including a London and Kent Gallery. She is a Member of the Society of Botanical Artists.

She has exhibited with The Pastel Society, the National Trust, Mall Galleries, National Society of Painters, United Society of Artists and Chelsea Arts Society.

Her works are in private collections in the UK, America, Australia, South Africa, France, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan. Many of her pastels have been issued in print, card and calendar form in the UK and US.

Her larger pastels like this one, sell in galleries for between £1-2,000 and a signed limited edition giclee print commands £180 online. There is a great deal of information about her available on google, including images of her work and prices.

The pastel has been expensively and attractively triple mounted and is framed in a 1 1/2" gilt frame to suit. It is ready to hang.
