Rare late Victorian silver tobacco or large snuff box of heavy gauge with repousse image of Napoleon Bonaparte on horseback and wearing a bicorn hat.
The sides are decorated with laurel leaves representing the famous laurel wreath crown of the French Emperor.
The base bears the firmly punched hallmarks of Samuel Boyce Landeck and import marks for Sheffield 1900 together with a set of Hanau marks.
It measures 85 x 62 x 27 mm and weighs a very solid 120 grams.
