Charming 19th.c. oil painting on canvas c.1870. Three finely dressed children, two girls and a boy, and a large dog are depicted in a landscape with a large Gothic château and a lake, with hills in the background. The older girl is making a rose garland from flowers in the basket by her feet whilst, rather unusually, the boy turns away from us to look toward the house. Presented unframed on a wooden stretcher. Some wear and repairs.
