Painting Fisherman Retrieving Nets Andrew Kennedy

FISHING VESSEL RETRIEVING NETS OFF MEDWAY COAST IN KENT.
(One of a Pair Offered Separately)
Fishermen cast their nets from two small peter boats floating gently in calm seas just off the shoreline.
They work carefully together fishing for smelts and to retrieve the large nets as a team, each crew pulling hard on the full catch to gather onto up his boat.
The calm silhouetted sea has been extremely well painted and the realism achieved is remarkable,a credit to the artist.
Full of charactor in the a late 19thc manner and style.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
LISTED MARINE ARTIST ANDREW KENNEDY (From Research Found Online)
Andrew Kennedy specialised in painting historic naval scenes, seascapes and other marine art.
Most of his works were oil paintings although he occasionally painted in watercolours.
Andrew was born in the North of England but lived most of his life in Sussex and Kent.
After his school years he joined the Blue Star line as an able seaman.
During these years he was greatly inspired by the paintings of J. Spurling and W. L. Wyllie.
His many and varied experiences of naval life and later living and sailing on the River Medway all served to further foster his great passion for marine artwork.
He has also known for recreating various great scenes from the past such as The Victory at Trafalgar and The Titanic plus many more historical naval scenes.
His detailed knowledge of naval history combined with his artistry has magnificently captured many such scenes.
