A pair of small 19th century Chinese pith gouache watercolour paintings of an Emperor and Empress in attractive burgundy lacquered frames in good antique condition. The figures are depicted in sumptuous clothing on thrones.

There are 6 paintings in the series which have been listed in pairs.

Condition: Very good antique condition with typical minor age-related marks. Small chip to the right foot of the lacquered frame containing the Emperor.
