This is a very fine pair of pastel portraits of a Georgian Lady and Gentleman. Late 18th /Early 19th Century
Re framed in late Victorian times, frame makers labels to the back, and with interesting hand written notes of historical ownership dated 1894 ....
'..This picture belongs to Reginald Hill of Nether Exe and is to be returned to him on the decease of Mary Anne Pye - 27th Oct 1894 '
Nether Exe is a small village in Devon, north of Exeter and Reginald Hill Esq of Cadleigh was the Lord of the Manor and chief land owner of that area at that time.
The portraits are high quality art work and in excellent condition. Unsigned
