Pair of Windsor Armchairs c.1850

Lovely pair of mid 19th.c. yew wood and elm Windsor armchairs c.1850. Yew wood back rests with a steamed and bent top rail and arms joined with simple stick spindles either side of an attractively shaped and pierced back splat. The arms raised on crisply turned spindles. Over single piece elm seats, nicely shaped for comfort. Raised on turned legs, slightly spayed for stability and joined with curving crinoline stretchers. A true pair with matching details throughout. Excellent colour and condition with particularly good patina to the backs and arms. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
