A Rare Late 17th Century brass cased Lantern antique clock.c.1690. Made by sought after maker, John Ebsworth of London(w.1657-99). Verge escapement to the bell striking movement with alarm. Rare centre verge pendulum. Single pointer to the engraved centre dial with narrow silvered chapter ring. Fretwork decoration to the top and original bell. Sat on the original hook and spikes. Full working order. A fine example by this sought after maker.Very petit size, measures 6.5" x 7"deep x 15"high.
John Ebsworth, prolific maker of lantern antique clocks, noted for his centre verge pendulum movements. Master of the antique clock maker's company in 1697.
