An interesting large brass tobacco box with "P MOLONEY 17 BELFAST 81" inscribed to the hatch at the top of the box, a figure recoiling from a snake, on the main part of the box, and the words "Oh Lor! here's an orrid thing. Its looks puite wenemous" below. The significance would seem to relate to finding a snake in Ireland, which of course, famously, does not have snakes. The main part of the box opens from the top, while the smaller compartment, perhaps for snuff, opens from the underside.

The box measures 3.5" (8.5 cm) wide and is 6" (15 cm) long. The depth is 1" (2.25 cm) All items are sold with a 14 day money back guarantee.
