A very rare large wall hanging Black Forest trumpeter antique clock. It has a fruitwood case with traditional applied carved vine leaves incorporating an integral bottom bracket. It has original finely carved bone hands and applied numerals. On the hour the double doors open to reveal a trumpeter who sounds a tune on an arrangement of four organ pipes. The two train weight driven movement is of wood construction with brass and iron wheels. Attributed to Emilian Werhle. Current Condition
The case is in good original condition, with only minor repalacements/repairs. The movement and bellows were restored in 1991 and it is still in working order. A service can be carried out before purchase if required.
