Rare Pair of Brass Inlaid Mahogany Library Chairs


Circa 1820, rare pair of brass inlaid mahogany and leather library chairs, in the manner of James Mein, Kelso. The shaped back with finials and beaded flame mahogany panels separated by brass and ebony inlay, with similar inlay on facings throughout. The original leather upholstered seat over beaded seat rails, and on slightly outswept rear legs and turned, fluted and tapering front legs with bulbous toes.
