Shapland & Petter Dressing Table c1900-20
Shapland and Petter Dressing Table c1900-1920.
Shapland and Petter was founded in the 1850s by Henry Shapland who was quickly joined by Henry Petter becoming Shapland & Petter. Producing consistently high quality work and associated with many great designers such as C.R.Ashbee and M.H Baillie Scott they soon became a well known and iconic style of there own.
This piece dating from the start of the 20th century it shows very high quality workmanship and gorgeous design with the piece being marked as most are on the lock. Made from solid mahogany and being cross banded it also shows the retailers mark to the rear of the central mirror. There is some foxing on the mirrors and the key has gone otherwise in wonderful condition.
