The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has some light surface marking and a couple of shallow indentations.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for Birmingham 1917 with a sponsor’s mark for George Stockwell.
From 1 June 1907, Stockwells acted as assay agents, facilitating the import into Britain of foreign gold and silver items which had to be assayed and hallmarked in a UK assay office before being released for retail.
The front and sides of the case are in good condition, some small indentations to the hinged case backs.
The watch glass is in lovely condition.
The dial has Roman numerals, pin-set blued steel hands and a subsidiary dial for constant seconds. There is also a chronograph feature which is started by pressing the crown, and then press again to stop and again to re-set. The top of the dial has a subsidiary dial which records up to 30 minutes.
There is one hairline crack on the bottom subsidiary seconds dial but it is faint.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
