Date letter from the 1940s
I do not recognise the shield so am not sure which railway this was used on. The motto on the shield reads Ex Unitate Vires. (Although the Vires is quite rubbed). This was a motto for South Africa so maybe it was used over there on their railways. Or it may not have had a railway use but it is certainly the type of item used in the Dining Cars.
Approximate dimensions: height 9.6cm, weight 460 grams.

There are surface marks associated with normal use and age.
