Unusual Silver Plated Wine Bottle Holder.
The Wine Bottle holder was made by Harrison Brothers & Howson, for G F Kellner & Co.
Harrison Brothers & Howson were one of the leading Silversmiths in Sheffield, England in the 19th & early 20th century.
G F Kellner & Co were Wine Merchants on Chowringhee Road, India, whose business was founded C1857 & later became proprietors of & caterers to refreshment rooms & dining cars on serveral Indian Railways. This is a rare survior of the elegant days of the Raj when high ranking Ladies & Gentlemen travelled by rail.
Height 12.60"
diameter of base 3.80"
The Wine Holder is in very good condition & all marks can be seen clearly in the photos.
This would make a unique gift for any wine lover.
