Silver Pocket Watch, G Edward & Sons, Glasgow

A very good, gentleman's sterling silver cased Pocket Watch. The watch Swiss made for George Edward & Sons, London & Glasgow, maker to the Queen and the Admiralty.
This watch is a good example, in nice condition and in good working order.
The plain silver case is in good condition, all covers opening and closing tightly as they should. It is stamped "0.935" for 0.935 grade silver (slightly higher grade than English sterling silver 0.925) alongside Swiss "three bears" control marks for silver. The case in good condition but does have some indents to the case side band.
The white enamel dial is in very good condition. It has the hours in Roman numerals and a sub-seconds dial at six o'clock. The dial with the watch serial number.
The very good quality, Swiss made, 3/4 plate, Lever movement is in excellent working order. It is signed Swiss Made and has the details of G Edward & Sons engraved alongside the serial number 14385 to match the dial and the case, proving all are original and have been together since new.
The watch is stem wind/pin set. The time being set by depressing the small pin located at eleven o'clock on the case side band whilst turning the winding crown.
The watch measures 50m in diameter (across the case, excluding the winding crown).
The watch is complete with a jewellers fitted presentation/display case.
Overall, this is a good example, it would make a lovely addition to any collection. Specialists in Antique Pocket Watches & Vintage Wristwatches, Jewellery, Silver (including Scottish Provincial),Good Quality Antiques & Works of Art.
