A magnificent antique Georgian mahogany bureau with carved feet and fall. In beautifully figured mahogany, it has 4 single graduated drawers with ornate brass drop handles and escutcheons and stands on bracket feet carved in the Chippendale manner. The fall front, which has carving to its edges, drops down to reveal 9 pigeon holes and 4 small drawers to the interior. To the fall has a carved fretwork frieze and the feet and pelmet are beautifully carved with acanthus leaf and scroll work. It comes with 2 working keys, one which locks the fall and one which locks all of the drawers. A really good quality bureau and of a really good size.

Good colour and patina. Some old repairs to the feet. Some chips to corners of fall (see photos). Other wear and marks commensurate with age.
