Victorian Carved Walnut Caithness Spinning Chair


An attractive antique walnut spinning chair. We date this chair to the late 19th century.
The chair sits on four well turned legs.
The chair has an attractive carved backrest with a cut out heart shape. The seat has matching carvings and is in an irregular octagonal shape.
There is writing on the underside of the chair for a “Caithness Spinning Wheel”.
The chair has a height of 33" (84cm) with a backrest height of 21.5" (54cm), an overall depth of 16" (41cm), a seat height of 12.5" (32cm), a seat width of 12" (31cm) and a seat depth of 12.5" (32cm).
This attractive chair remains in good solid condition with surface marks commensurate with age and usage. There are some minor marks and wear to the feet area.
This remains a very stylish and elegant chair and will continue to provide rest for many years to come.
