Victorian Lantern Clock
A Victorian table/mantel lantern antique clock. A well made brass case with fretted top panels surmounted by a bell. A silvered chapter ring sign 'R Smith, London' and a well engraved dial centre. A good quality W & H mechanism of 8-day duration striking the 1/2 hours and hours on the bell. In the Victorian period many earlier lantern antique clocks were converted or made in the 17th century style as this example is. Circa 1880.
