Walnut Abbatant Secretaire Desk Chest Of Drawers
Antique inlaid walnut / kingwood abbatant, secretaire, bureau, desk, chest of drawers, writing table dating from the late 19th or early 20th Century.
This is a versatile piece of antique furniture with lovely tall, narrow proportions and great styling.
Various wood veneers have been used on this chest, including most probably walnut and kingwood but it is hard to tell.
This is a rare and sought after style of desk, which is quite hard to find, especially with these proportions.
Unfixed marble top, with some wear, knocks and marks as one would expect.
The oak lined drawers all slide freely and we have a key (all of the locks turn the opposite way to English ones and they seem to double lock).
This piece of antique antique furniture would look great in the right location, is attractive and aesthetically very pleasing.
Overall dimensions 515mmW x 315mmD (640mmD with the fall front open) x 1310mmH (800mmH writing surface).
Historical knocks, marks, cracking, repairs and alterations as is usual for antique furniture. Some internal staining as is usual. There are some historical woodworm holes that we have treated for good measure.
Please note that this item is large and heavy. Please make sure before buying that it will fit in and can be maneuvered into the room that it is intended for. The customer will need to provide 1 strong able bodied person for our driver to assist with carrying.
