Watercolour John Cuthbert Salmon 1844 – 1915 cottage, Tal Y Bont North Wales

Nice watercolour by good artist. This has been newly remounted and framed in period oak frame. Signed lowered left.

John Cuthbert Salmon b1844 .  He specialized in painting landscapes in both oil and watercolour, in North Wales and occasionally in Scotland.  He lived in Liverpool during the mid to late 1800's. Most of his time painting was spent between Tal-y-bont and Deganwy near Llandudno North Wales until his death in 1917. Exhibits were held at the Royal Academy and The New Watercolour Society from 1878 He was a member of the Liverpool Academy of Arts, and examples of his work may be seen at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
