Watercolour Armorial, framed and glazed

A very good Armorial from the Dewhurst family “Spes mea in Deo” (My Hope is in God). It is well annotated on the back with a typewritten chart of names and pedigree to 1613. It also details the arms: Erminois, three scallops, Gules, and the Crest: A Woolf’s head, coupled, erminois.
The source/authority seems to be the Harleian manuscripts, now in the British Museum.
I can’t accurately date the watercolour, although I would say it is Victorian. However the back label on the frame for the Boots Picture Framing Dept is dated for October 1910, so I am able to ascribe this as at least Edwardian. A small amount of spotting on the paper: visible here in the main photo
Size of the good giltwood frame is approx 257 x 202mm
Framed and Glazed
My shop at 1 Bridge St, Dulverton TA22 9HJ is open
