Antique Lecterns
Meaning: A lectern is a tall reading stand or podium, with a slanted top, on which documents are placed for reading aloud while standing. Found in churches, law courts and schools, even the US president has a lectern. Antique Wooden church lecterns are usually made in oak, but also brass. Lectern podium designs ranged from elaborately carved gothic oak eagle lectern stands popular in the 19th century to plainer more functional wooden podium lectern styles.
