A charming pair of portrait miniatures with full inscriptions to the rear by the artist, J. Bradley of Heveningham, Suffolk.

The portrait of the younger lady is inscribed verso:

'Rachel Boulton, Aged 21 years. Drawn by J. Bradley, Heveningham, Suffolk, 1828. Mother Robt Boulton... 1833.'

The portrait of the older lady is inscribed verso:

'Rachael Andrews nee Bumstead born 1771 Norfolk England. My grandmother, Robt Boulton. Robt Boulton, my mother, born 1807'.

Both portraits remain in a very good condition throughout. Both frames show some light scuffing and craquelure commensurate with age but remain attractive. The frame of Rachel Boulton's portrait has a small chip to the lower left corner (please see photographs).
