A pair of Tall 19th Century French Hat Stands, shop display
These stands came from a milliners’ shop in Paris, they are all about 4ft tall, they are made in fruitwood and have a heavy painted base and a tall centre column supporting a round platform at the top
The bases of the stands as with so many pieces of French wood have been attacked by the dreaded “ver du bois”, but this has been treated and is quite dead
The hat stands are 46” high and 11” across at the base, the top is 8” in diameter
