Edwardian Oak Writing Table / Hall Table
This antique writing table dates from c.1910 (the handles have a registration number moulded in which date them to 1909). It is constructed from solid oak. It has a single long drawer beneath the top which retains its original art nouveau style brass handles, which have the registration number 546150 moulded in. The desk has a subtle shaped lower apron to the front and sides. It is supported on tapering legs with a H stretcher in between.
Condition: Overall this attractive piece is in usuable condition but does have some wear consistent with age and use. There is some quite heavy scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. There are some marks, including ring marks, to the top and a wood shrinkage split between the two panels on the top. There is some knocking and denting in places, including a heavy dent to the front edge. The handles are tarnished.
