George III Silver Acorn Sugar Tongs c.1790
Attractive pair of 18th century George III silver sugar tongs with cast acorns to form the ends. Bright cut engraved decoration along the arms and feathered edging. The end has a small monogram MB. Hallmarked inside the acorns with the head of George III, the lion passant mark and makers mark for Samuel Godbehere & Edward Wigan, c.1790.
They measure 14cm (5 1/2") long, 4.5 (1 3/4") wide and 1.5cm (1/2") deep. They weigh 31g/1.0ozt. Condition is very good with minimal surface wear. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
