Mid-Century Pewter 1 Pint Kings of England Tankard

This is an interesting Mid-Century Pewter One Pint Tankard with a Glass Bottom. The tankard is of traditional shape and style but is lifted out of the ordinary by the engraving around the body which lists all the Kings and Queens of England from Alfred The Great in 871 up to the accession of Elizabeth II in 1952.
These tankards were originally produced for the coronation of Elizabeth II in 1953 but proved popular and remained in production through the 1950s and into the 1960s.
The tankard was made in Sheffield by Viners and dates to the 1950s/60s. Viner's was founded around 1900 by Adolphe Viener, who later Anglicized his family surname to Viner. Starting out as electroplaters, the firm moved into silverware and later pewter in the 1920s. They remained extremely successful up until the 1970s but later had difficulties and ceased trading in the 1980s. The Viner's brand name is now owned by Oneida.
Condition is very good, with no dings or dents in the pewter, which has developed a nice patina, no cracks in the glass bottom and just the overall superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The tankard has a 1 pint / 568ml capacity. It is 11.6cm / 4.5ins from rim to handle, 11cm / 4.3ins across the base and stands 12.2cm / 4.8ins high. It weighs 372g / 13.1oz.
The underside of the base is marked English Pewter, Viners of Sheffield and Made in England.
Shipping in the UK is £6 by Royal Mail Tracked 24.
