Regency Mahogany Ladies Writing Desk
This lovely antique writing desk dates from c.1820-1830. It is constructed from mahogany, some solid, some veneered over solid wood. It has simple satinwood string inlay around the top and ebony inlay around the bottom of the front and sides. The desk has two drawers underneath the top with a further smaller drawer beneath at each side. The drawers have replacement brass handles. The piece is supported on very slightly splayed elegant tapering legs.
Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. There are a few marks, including ring marks, to the top.
