The Railway Guards Watch by JW Benson c1890s


A Fine Quality JW Benson Railway Guards Pocket Watch Cira 1890s
Working fine with a strong tick
The case is made of heavy duty Nickel Plate with strong winder and strong top bow
With inner dust movement protector
Original thick bezelled edge watch glass all fine, case hinge prefect
Good size winding button, extra strong bow to fasten to Guards Chain
White enamel dial , bold Black numerals, Blue Steel Hands , small 60 second hand dial
The dial does have a few hairline cracks please view photos, does not soil
the look of the fine watch The name JW Benson London on the dial
Clean watch movement working fine
The hands are set by pressing in the small pin button at 1 O'clock
I have not had the watch serviced and unable to know when this was last done
So please bear this in mind
Movement marked with full JW Benson name and London address and
"The Railway Guards Watch Best London Maker"
Watch size 55mm diameter , weight 153 grams
These watch would only be given to the important role of Railway Guard during this period
With the quality of movement and strongly made
and what a lovely quite rare railway watch to have
