Unusual Edwardian Ladies Writing Desk
Circa 1900, a very unusual Edwardian mahogany ladies writing desk, made by Claude Neil, Glasgow (1871-1956). The upper section with hinged moulded lid and carved with paterae, above 2 doors carved with cherubs and foliage, on pierced brass hinges, enclosing a hinged writing slope and single drawer, raised on square tapering supports united by flat stretchers and with decorative struts to the back and sides.
