Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian walnut button upholstered nursing / occasional chair, in the style of Howard & Sons chair designs, circa 1850, which has been newly upholstered and is now in excellent condition. Constructed with a beech frame, it has been upholstered in top quality pale gold chenille brocade upholstery, incorporating a large crewelwork style floral pattern, finished with piping to the frame and brass studs to the rear corners. The arched button back is secured on a box frame sprung stuffed seat. The seat itself is firm, which means that you won’t sink into the seat, but at the same time, it is very comfortable to sit on or rest your feet. The underside has been with traditional hessian material. The chair stands on its original and very pretty bun-turned walnut front feet, with block feet to the rear, terminated on its original steel castors.
This is a top quality chair, which is very functional as it consumes little space. It is rare to see chairs of this design and finished to a high quality standard using top quality fabric it makes this chair very desirable.
