6 x Art Deco Silver & Enamel Cocktail Sticks, 1930

This is a fun Cased Set of Six Art Deco Sterling Silver and Enamel Cocktail Sticks. Each stick has a finial of a multicoloured enamel cockerel. The case is in faux snakeskin with a satin lining in the lid and a black velvet tray for the sticks. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind.
The cocktail sticks were made in Birmingham by highly regarded silversmiths Adie Brothers Ltd and date to 1930. The firm was founded in 1906 when two established Birmingham silversmiths, McKewan & Adie and E.S. Barnsley & Co, were merged under the leadership of Percy Adie to form Adie Brothers Ltd. The company was very successful and produced a wide range of silverware until the 1960s when they were absorbed into British Silverware.
Condition is very good, with no damage to the enamel cockerels and just the overall superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. The box is a little scuffed and the clasp a touch loose. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
Each cocktail stick is 7.5cm / 2.9ins long and the set of six together, unboxed, weighs in at 10.7g / 0.38oz. All together the boxed set weighs 86g / 3oz.
The hallmarks, at the tips of the cocktail sticks, are nice and clear to read with just a little distortion to the makers' mark due to the limited space available for it. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter F for 1930 and the distinctive A Bros Ltd makers' mark for Adie Brothers Ltd.
Shipping in the UK is £11.50 by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which includes cover for the value of the set.
Overseas customers, please ask us about shipping costs to your country before making a purchase.
