6 x Edwardian Floral Coffee Spoons, J Rodgers 1908

This is an exceptional set of six Edwardian Sterling Silver Coffee Spoons. Basically in the classic Old English pattern, these spoons are lifted to quite another level by the addition of beautiful hand engraved flowers cascading down the front of the stem and creating a cartouche at the top of the stem which is blank, making these ideal as a gift.
The coffee spoons are made in Sheffield by Joseph Rodgers & Sons and date to 1908. Joseph Rodgers was a long established and highly regarded firm of cutlers and silversmiths with origins back in the 18th century. They remained in business up until the start of the Second World War.
Condition is extremely good with no dings or dents and just the most minimal superficial surface wear. These have clearly been very well looked after for the last 114 years and probably only seen a limited amount of use. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
Each spoon is 11.1cm / 4.4ins long and the set of six together weighs in at a very respectable 88.9g / 3.1oz of solid Sterling Silver.
The hallmarks on the undersides of the stems are well struck and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the crown assay mark for Sheffield, the Gothic date letter q for 1908 and the JR makers' mark plus star and cross trademark of Joseph Rodgers & Sons Ltd.
Shipping in the UK is £10 by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which includes cover for the value of the spoons.
Overseas customers, please ask us about shipping costs to your country before making a purchase.
