This is a delightful antique coal purdonium. A Scottish, fireside fuel store in walnut with brass fittings and tools, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1860. A charming and practical fireside companion, rich in traditional appeal and decorative presence.
Attractive Victorian fireside interest, ideal for both period and contemporary hearths
In good order with a light, sympathetic patina across the brass fittings and hardware
Crafted from light walnut stocks, showcasing fine grain interest and a warm caramel hue
Twin field panel doors with classic proportions conceal the coal liner tray
Dressed with a gadrooned brass pull to the right-hand door for smooth access
Tactile brass carry handle to the top provides ease of movement and elegant form
Complete with a pair of coal tools, including a scallop-form coal shovel and pointed poker
