This elegant antique firescreen has a mahogany frame and dates from the early 19th century. The oblong frame has 3 plain screens which pull out from both sides and the top. The central fixed screen has a tapestry scene depicting 4 figures in medieval costumes. The frame is raised on square section end supports, trestle base with applied roundels, downswept legs with brass toes and castors joined by a turned pole stretcher.

Wear and marks commensurate with age. Tapestry is faded and other panels have marks and wear. Small section of wood missing to top right panel. An old mend to one leg (good mend, difficult to see). Lovely warm patina to mahogany.
