This is a Victorian novelty silver vesta case, in shape of a kidney or bean.
It is hallmarked for Birmingham and year ‘1899’.
Maker’s mark for Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd.
Gilt interior.
The vesta case is just over 4 cm long, not including the jump ring.
Condition: couple of shallow dents, but generally very good for age.
