Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Bird Claw Sugar Tongs
This is a distinctively Art Nouveau pair of Sterling Silver Sugar Tongs with bird claw pincers. The tongs are almost certainly American and date to the early part of the 20th century when Art Nouveau was at its peak of popularity. There is no personalisation of any kind. The tongs are stamped Sterling on the inside of each bird claw pincer but sadly there is no makers' mark to identify which company made them.
The Sugar Tongs are in good condition with no dings or dents and only very minimal wear and tear, having clearly been well looked after for around 100 years. Please make sure you look at all the photos.
These would make a very stylish addition to any teatime, are perfect for Art Nouveau lovers or would make a great addition to a collection.
The tongs are 11.2cm long and weigh a respectable 17.3g.
