Edwardian Dressing Table Pot, Levi & Salaman, 1903

This is an attractive Edwardian Cut Glass Dressing Table Pot with a Sterling Silver lid. The glass pot is hobnail cut around the body and star cut on the underside of the base. The silver top has an embossed scroll and flower design surrounding a blank cartouche and is gilded on the underside.
The pot was made in Birmingham by noted silversmiths Levi & Salaman and dates to 1903. Founded by Phineas Levi and Joseph Salaman in 1870, Levi & Salaman quickly established a reputation for high quality silverware and remained in business for fifty years until they were merged into Barker Brothers in 1921.
Condition is good, with no chips or cracks in the glass and just a couple of pinholes in the silver lid where it has been polished through whilst cleaning and two shallow flat spots around the rim. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The pot is 4.3cm / 1.7ins in diameter and stands 4.8cm / 1.9ins high. The lid by itself weighs in at 9.7g / 0.34oz of solid Sterling Silver and all together the pot weighs 70g / 2.47oz.
The hallmarks, on the bottom rim of the lid, are a little rubbed but still easy to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter d for 1903 and the L & S makers' mark for Levi & Salaman.
Shipping in the UK is £6.50 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
