A very fine French late 19th Century bronze bust entitled 'Diane' of an attractive young Art Nouveau maiden with good colour and detail. Raised on a rouge marble plinth, signed and titled to fore with the Paris Societe des Bronzes foundry stamp and number to rear. Diana or Artemis is a twin sister of Apollo and one of the twelve main deities of Greek/Roman mythology.
Diane is Goddess of Light, Healing, Childbirth etc. but especially Hunting. Usually appears, as here, with her hair gathered back adorned with a Moon ornament.

This can be sold together with "Lucrece" as a pair - please enquire re a price for both.
