George V Cut Glass Vanity Pot, H. Perkins, 1924

This is an elegant George V Cut Glass Dressing Table Pot with a smooth Sterling Silver lid. The pot is oval in shape with hobnail cut decoration around the body and star cut decoration on the underside of the base. The smooth lid is totally plain with no initials or personalisation of any kind.
The dressing table pot is made in London by Henry Perkins & Sons and dates to 1924. Based in London's Tottenham Court Road, Henry Perkins started his business in the early 1890s, becoming Henry Perkins & Sons in 1901. They primarily dealt in high end smoking accessories of all kinds but also produced perfume bottles, powder compacts and dressing table sets aimed at their female clientele or perhaps for their male customers to purchase as gifts.
Condition is generally good apart from a small chip in the glass rim which obviously happened some considerable time ago as it is rubbed very smooth. There are no dings or dents in the silver lid. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The dressing table pot is 10cm / 3.9ins long, 4.8cm / 1.9ins wide and stands 3.5cm / 1.4ins high. The lid by itself weighs 13.1g / 0.46oz of solid Sterling Silver, whilst the lid and glass pot combined weigh a total of 169.8g / 6oz.
The hallmarks on the side rim of the lid are nice and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the leopard's head assay mark for London, the date letter II for 1924 and the H P & S makers' mark for Henry Perkins & Sons.
Shipping in the UK is £6 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
