George V Silver 3 Pce Condiment Set, B'ham, 1933

This is a charming George V Sterling Silver Three Piece Condiment Set For One with its original spoons and blue glass liners. The three pieces are decorated with a pierced Greek key pattern around the bodies.
The condiment set was made by the Northern Goldsmiths Co of Newcastle and assayed in Birmingham in 1933. The Northern Goldsmiths Co opened their first showroom in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1778 and have been both manufacturers and retailers of silverware, jewellery, watches and clocks. They had marks registered with all the UK assay offices but most of their pieces were assayed at Chester or Birmingham. They ceased manufacturing silverware at the start of the Second World War and are now part of the nationwide Goldsmiths chain of jewellery stores.
Overall condition is good but on the mustard pot there is one key pattern panel missing from the lower row and a small chip in the top rim of the glass liner. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The mustard pot is 4.7cm / 1.8ins from rim to handle, 3.5cm / 1.4ins in diameter and 3.5cm / 1.4ins high. The mustard spoon is 5.5cm / 2.2ins long. The salt is 3.5cm / 1.4ins in diameter and 2.2cm / 0.87ins high. The salt spoon is 5.5cm / 2.2ins long. The pepper shaker is 2.3cm / 0.9ins in diameter and 3.9cm / 1.5ins high. Without the glass liners, the set weighs in at 29.6g / 1oz of solid Sterling Silver and all together it weighs 75.9g / 2.7oz.
The matching hallmarks on all the pieces are a little rubbed but still nice and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter J for 1933 and the N G Co makers' mark for the Northern Goldsmiths Co.
