A very attractive George V Sterling Silver Bonbon Dish from the 1920s.

The dish is made in Sheffield by Walker & Hall, one of the great names in English silver, and dates to 1924. The bowl part of the dish has six pierced panels with a cross motif in the centre of each one. It stands on 3 legs, each of which ends in a scalloped foot.

Condition is good with just a tiny ding in the floor of the bowl and the superficial wear you would expect after nearly 100 years of use. It's completely stable when standing but the feet could perhaps do with just a very slight degree of levelling. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The bonbon dish is 8.8cm in diameter and stands 4.2cm at its highest point. It weighs a very respectable 40.9g of solid Sterling Silver.

The hallmarks, on the side of the bowl, are well struck and clear to read. They are the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the crown assay mark for Sheffield, the date letter "g" for 1924 and the W&H makers' mark for Walker & Hall.
