Grand Tour Bronze Inkwell in the Renaissance style


A very fine, superb quality heavy bronze ink well.
Certainly acquired by way of The Grand Tour (17th - 18th Centuries)
Many of the styles that we recognize today are attributed to the days of the Grand Tour. This piece displays elements of the Renaissance period.
Those well funded gentry from the 17th & 18th centuries set off around Europe with unlimited funds and purchased many items to return home with. The advent of souvenirs & 'collecting' The difference being these were fine quality items.
