Japanese Oriental Cockerel Silk Textile Embroideries Japanese Chinese Meiji %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A Stunning Pair of Large Oriental Embroidered Fighting Cockerels or Roosters.

Japanese, (19th century, Meiji era) but somewhat in the Chinese taste, beautifully and faithfully rendered in champagne coloured silk threads. These stylish, decadent panels have a wonderful sense of design and detail. Very lifelike with flowing feathers and horny, scaled legs and claws!

These dramatic pictures would make a knockout addition to any Oriental or bird-themed interior.....and represent a first-rate opportunity for the Interior Designer / Decorator.

It should be noted that each bird and the surrounding drifting feathers (pulled free from battle!), have been carefully cut from the original panel and laid down onto a matching dark fabric ground, before being framed separately to face each other.

Presented in well-considered mounts and framed and glazed to a high standard, ready to hang and enjoy.
